Academic Adjustments That May Not Be Appropriate
To determine an appropriate academic adjustment, FSC's Student Disability Services professionals will review your request based on the essential requirements for the relevant program. It is important to remember that FSC is not required to lower or waive essential requirements.
Examples that generally may not be deemed appropriate academic adjustments could include:
- Unlimited time on tests
- Breaks during tests
- Fewer numbers of items on tests or assignments
- Less rigorous content on tests or assignment items
- Other changes in the essential requirements of a class or program
- NOTE: Appropriate academic adjustments are effective from the date the Accommodation Plan is issued forward, and are not retroactive
