During the Q and A session, James described how the most difficult and important part of the process was translating every single moment from the page to the screen.
“Every choice was at service to the story,” James said.
While most filmmakers talked about their technical difficulties on set, James spoke of the importance of story and representation on screen.
“I’m grateful for the support and dedication of my entire cast and crew at Florida Southern. I wouldn’t have been able to make this story happen without them.”
Florida Southern Theatre Alumni, Kianna Jackson and Zach Holmer star in the film.
James is in his first year at the University of Miami in pursuit of an MFA in Motion Pictures. At Miami, he has been on set every weekend while having the opportunity to create his own original work. After completing his MFA, he aspires to continue his career as an independent filmmaker and college professor.
