Match Day
Find your home on June 1
Mar 20, 2025

There’s something exciting about picturing your residence hall room—your own space, your style, and a new friend to share it with. At Florida Southern, we know that who you live with can make all the difference, which is why we carefully match students based on their lifestyle and preferences. Finding the right roommate means having someone to explore campus with, share late-night conversations, and turn your dorm into a place that feels like home. That’s where Match Day comes in.
What is Match Day?
Match Day is just for deposited first-year students! If you submit your deposit by April 1, you’ll be among the first to receive your official housing and roommate assignment on June 1. That means you’ll have the entire summer to connect with your new roommate, plan your dorm setup, and build friendships before move-in day.
How FSC Matches You with the Perfect Roommate
We know that a great college experience starts with feeling comfortable in your living space. That’s why we don’t just randomly pair students together. Instead, we ask you to complete a roommate questionnaire before move-in. This helps us understand your habits, personality, and preferences so we can find a roommate who’s a great fit for you.
- Night owl or early riser? We’ll match you with someone who shares your sleep schedule.
- Messy or neat? Your match will be based on shared cleanliness preferences.
- Social butterfly or low-key? Whether you love having people over or prefer a quieter space, we take that into account.
By pairing students based on lifestyle and personality traits, we help create a positive and supportive living environment from the start.
Where Will You Be Living?
Match Day doesn’t just reveal your roommate, it also tells you which residence hall you’ll call home! You could be settling into the suite-style Barnett Residential Life Complex, the historic charm of Joseph Reynolds Hall, the close-knit community of Allan Spivey Hall, or the convenient central of Hollis Hall.
Life on Campus
No matter where you end up living, FSC will feel like home. Here’s why:
1. Instant Community and Lifelong Friendships
Living in a residence hall provides you with a built-in network of friends. Whether you’re bonding with your roommate, meeting new people at hall events, or just hanging out in the common areas, you’ll never feel alone. Dorm community events, game nights, and casual gatherings make it easy to find your people.
2. Everything You Need is Steps Away
Need coffee before class? Want to squeeze in a quick workout? Craving a late-night snack? Living on campus means you’re just steps away from everything.
3. Amenities
Your dorm won't just be four walls and a bed. Our residence halls feature stunning views and fun amenities to make campus life feel like a mini vacation:
- Sand volleyball courts for spontaneous games with friends
- TV lounges and gaming areas for movie marathons and game nights
- Ping pong and pool tables for some friendly competition
- Outdoor seating areas to relax and soak up the Florida sun
4. A Supportive and Safe Environment
Living on campus means you’re surrounded by people who want you to succeed. Resident advisors (RAs) are always around to help, whether you need advice on classes, tips for adjusting to college life, or just someone to talk to.
