Patriots Plaza

Florida Southern College's Patriots Plaza was given to honor our veterans by John J. (Jack) Smith '53
Since Florida Southern’s founding, many of our students, alumni, and faculty members have answered the call to serve in our nation’s military. A number have even made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives on the battlefield. Now, the College has completed Patriots Plaza to commemorate our alumni and friends who have served, or are currently serving, in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Patriots Plaza is a dignified place of honor and remembrance that is used for ROTC battalion formations and ceremonies, and also functions as a gateway to the revitalized seven-acre Barnett Athletic Complex near the heart of campus. The plaza features a stunning three-flag display with a fountain, serene garden areas, and a recognition terrace.

Custom engraved bricks in the recognition terrace pay tribute to individual veterans, active duty service members, and patriotic alumni and friends who value their service.

Hundreds of members of the Florida Southern community have joined the College in honoring our nation's patriots by purchasing a customizable brick in Patriots Plaza—now Florida Southern invites you to join them.
