About the Sport Business Management Program

FSC's Sport Business Management program pairs a strong business foundation with a focused sport business curriculum, preparing you for careers in athletic administration, event and facility management, marketing, sales, and sport analytics. Through internships and engaged learning, you'll work alongside faculty and sport industry experts, combining classroom theory with real industry application.

The BS in Sport Business Management totals 124 credit hours, built on a business core and a sport business core.

Business Core

Foundational coursework in financial and managerial accounting, business principles, management, Excel for business, business systems, professional development, legal environment of business, applied statistics and analytics, macroeconomics, managerial finance, and marketing principles.

Sport Business Core

Sport-specific coursework in an introduction to sport management, sport marketing, law and risk management in sport, a sport business internship, and a senior seminar, plus eight hours of electives chosen from areas including sport analytics, facility planning and management, international sport, sport ethics, sport leisure and society, sport media, and sport sales.

General Education and Electives

Additional hours in FSC's WRIGHT Foundations, BS degree requirements, and electives round out the full 124-credit degree.

Sport business is best learned where sport actually happens, and at FSC that's all around you. Many students in the program play on FSC's nationally competitive teams, work game-day operations, and get involved in running events across one of the most successful athletics programs in Division II, with 32 NCAA Division II national championships to its name. From the front office to the field, you'll experience the business of sport firsthand.

You can also get involved through the program's professional and student organizations, including Sigma Beta Mu, a sport business management fraternity; Delta Sigma Pi, the professional business fraternity; and the Dean's Advisory Council.

Located between Orlando and Tampa, FSC puts you within reach of dozens of professional and minor league organizations, and our students have interned with some of the biggest names in the industry. FSC sport business students have interned with NASCAR, the PGA of America, the Orlando Magic, Orlando City Soccer Club, and the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers, and Lightning. With sixteen MLB spring training teams, the PGA, NASCAR, AAU, ESPN, and dozens of minor league franchises calling Florida home, the opportunities are everywhere.
